That’s where AstraeaNevermore really saved the day. The really tricky part was the control mask (the colourful image). For the normalmap (seen under the specular), I used the bump-map filter in Gimp and then set the alpha-channel to 50%. Same for the specular, which can be made from the diffuse with brightness/contrast adjustment. The diffuse is a light greyscale texture of the hair and can easily be made in any image editor. Normally, the best colour to work with would be white or grey.įrom this image you’ll create the four textures needed for a Sims 3 hair: (This image is rotated, in order to keep the post a reasonable size.) The Leiah hair was a special case because it only existed in brown. For ts3 they should be cropped to a square format. Typically ts4 textures occupy only a portion of a larger image.
